The situation

What has happened

Coastline Retail Centres has asked Vantage to quote for a quarterly periodic program at its Maroochydore centre: strip and seal of the food court hard floor, restorative carpet cleaning in the management suite and pressure washing of the main entry and forecourt. The work can only be done between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am after trading, with the centre's security officer on site. The food court floor is around 600 square metres of vinyl with grease build-up near the tenancies. The Cleaning Operations Manager wants a site assessment, a task and labour estimate, chemical and equipment selection, a risk assessment for the night work and a written quote ready for review by 18 September.

Evidence guide

Verify that areas and productivity rates produce a defensible labour estimate, that chemical selection matches the surfaces and the procedure, that the risk assessment addresses public access, wet floors and night work, and that the quote separates labour, materials, equipment and margin with clear exclusions. The review note should show commercial judgement.
